Censor's Vs. Sacred
Yo, I just wanted to know ur guy's oppinion on Censor's Armor Vs. Sacred armor, i have 45 energy with Sacred, so i would have 41 with Censor's (if im calculating right). But of course, Censor's has better armor ratings vs physical and all, I just wanted to know all your guy's oppinions on the subject.
Thx,
Xeuro

Hello,
Out of the two, I would prefer the Sacred. As a Healer/Protector, I don't stand in the frontline. Since I tend to hang as far back as possible, melee foes shouldn't get pass my meat shields (erm...well they shouldn't) and I usually stay out of archer's range. Therefore, I don't need the extra AL against physical. The Scared armor also has +5 AL vs Elemental, but again if I'm out of harms way elemental attacks shouldn't get me. The reason why I would choose Sacred over Censor is for the little boost in energy. The extra 4 from Sacred is almost an additional cast of a 5 energy spell and I see that as more beneficial.
P.S. I'm a newbie monk and my opinion on this may change after more experience in playing this profession, or words from wiser monks.

For enrgy wise the best is asthetics or you can use a combo of both if it is female use Censor top and the rest asthetics and if it a make use Censor pants. Then agian if you want another type you could always use wanderers looks great and has good enrgy. It all depends on what you are going to do for pure healing go for asthetics and for protection use Censor if you need to be close to were the action is.It depend to on what type of Monk you are for Mo/W or say a Monk/R go with Censors or Monk armor.

It depends on your playing style and if you feel comfortable/confident that you can still 'monk' well with less energy.
If you always stay out of harms way, then you may benefit more from Scared. You're not going to be hit by melee attacks, so the additional AL vs physical may not be required.
If you enjoy being close to the action, then the additional protection of Censor's will have more benefit.
My personal choice is a combo of Ascetic's and Sacred. The Ascetic's for more energy and a Scared chest to give some protection against elemental attacks. I can stay away from the axe wielding mob, but a fireball may find it's way to me.

Talking strictly PvE, Aescetic's is probably ideal if you hang back all the time and avoid aggro. However, even in PvE I generally prefer durability since I have other options for energy management, so I like the Censor's. I also use Censor's so the same suit can double as my PvP armor. Full Aescetic's is generally a bad idea in PvP considering your priority target status.
What I'd recommend is just wearing Censor's chest and legs, then wear tatoos on your hands and feet. The most frequent hit areas are chest, legs, and head, so there's little benefit to sacrificing energy for extra protection on hands and feet. In my experience, that setup provides the best balance of defense and energy, not to mention that is looks pretty nifty.

wow thanks for your guy's oppinons. I am a healer btw (guess i should have mentioned that lol). I mostly do Oro farming, but want to get into the PvP scene more, so i dont think i would go with full aescetic's (possibly hands and feet like Effigy said). But out of Censor's and Sacred's, which would be best for a PvP/PvE healer?

For PvP there is still nothing wrong with full asthetics I have worn them as a healing Monk but if you are concerned with attacks then use Censor Top and the rest asthetics if playing female if male then legs.If you want a good example watch observer mode and see what they are wearing and hanging around PvP areas like Battle Islands. This applies to PvE as well.

I started monk (PvE) and still learning but for engery / protection balance.
I use Aescetic's for the arms and feet and censor's for chest and legs.
I've been reading this combo may be good for PvP too (protection on area's most likely to get hit & energy boost) but not quite there myself to test it .. yet.

yes
I wear full sacred in pve becaue i think it looks nice and its not like i really have too much to worry about unless the whole party gets wiped out.
In pvp i wear censors chest and shorts and tats elsewhere. ^^

Just for another idea you can use asthetics on the arms and feet then use Censor on the Top and Wanderers or Sacred on the bottom. Thus Censor will cover physicall and Wanderers or Sacraed will cover elemental damage.
